A private security guard named Sunday Odongo, affiliated with the Samurai security company group, has been placed in detention at the Masindi Central Police Station. He stands accused of shooting a civilian at the Oil Energy fuel station in Kijura cell, part of the Masindi Municipality. The incident transpired around 8 pm on a Sunday evening.

The allegation against Odongo is that, while on duty, he engaged in a dispute with the conductor of an omnibus taxi registered as UBN 352N, who was reportedly loading passengers at the station. In an attempt to frighten away the conductor and the passengers, Odongo fired a gunshot into the air. Regrettably, a stray bullet struck a man passing by, causing a leg injury. The identity of the injured individual has not yet been determined. He was swiftly transported to Masindi General Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment for his severe wounds.

Julius Hakiza, the police spokesperson for the Albertine Region, has stated that the police promptly responded to the scene of the incident and took the security guard into custody. At present, Odongo is facing charges related to causing injury.
