The incident involved a fuel tanker with the registration number KBL 022A and ZD 3482, driven by Ismail Umar, a 27-year-old Kenyan national. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but dedicated officers swiftly arrived at the scene. The Fire and Rescue Services team successfully contained the fire, and they are currently working to completely extinguish it.
One lane on the by-pass remains open and operational for motorist use, ensuring minimal disruption. Authorities are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the fire, and their findings will be communicated in due course.
