Police in the Aswa West region have arrested 41 suspects in connection with violent incidents that occurred in Gulu City Centre on 6 December 2025, after a campaign visit by the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, had concluded.
According to the Aswa Regional Police Spokesperson, SP David Mudong, the incidents involved assaults and looting of people’s property, prompting police investigations.
“Following the acts of criminality involving assaults and the looting of people’s property that occurred in Gulu City Centre on 6th December 2025, after the campaign visit had ended, police carried out a well-coordinated operation,” Mudong said.
