Police Investigate Kyebando Shooting

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police

The Uganda Police Force, through ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, has launched an investigation into a fatal shooting incident that occurred on the evening of April 10th, 2024, in Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone, Kawempe Division, Kampala District. The victim, identified as Adaca Sabina, also known as Alele Francis, was a 36 year old driver working for Khan Logistics and a resident of Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone.

According to preliminary reports, the shooting incident took place around 19:30 hours when the victim was allegedly confronted by an individual identified as Achol, a security guard with SGA Security Company and a resident of the same area. Adaca Sabina was shot in the chest/heart while reportedly attempting to exit a corridor while speaking on the phone. The assailant fled the scene with the weapon, leaving the victim in critical condition.




It has been suggested that Adaca Sabina may have been involved in extramarital affairs, potentially playing a role in the tragic events that transpired. However, the police has emphasized the importance of allowing the ongoing investigation to uncover all relevant facts and motives surrounding this disturbing incident.




According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, “Law enforcement promptly secured the crime scene, conducting thorough documentation and evidence collection. The victim’s body was transferred to KCCA mortuary for a Postmortem Investigation to aid in the investigation process.”




The Uganda Police Force has extended its condolences to the family and loved ones of Adaca Sabina during this challenging period. They have assured the public that every effort is being made to apprehend the suspect and recover the weapon used in this senseless act of violence.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said authorities are now urging anyone with information pertaining to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
