The Kira Road Division of the Kampala Metropolitan East Police is currently investigating a case involving allegations of rape and abortion. A 19-year-old female resident of Kulambiro Jomayi in Nakawa Division, Kampala District, reported the incident.

According to the victim, these alleged incidents occurred between July and September of 2023. The victim had been working as a housemaid for a 26-year-old Lebanese national named Mr. Mohamed Mohsen, who is a sales manager at Bipous Limited and resides in Bukoto, Nakawa Division, Kampala District.

The victim reported that during her employment, she experienced sexual assaults and was forced into having an abortion. She explained that her employer, Mohamed Mohsen, would call her into his room at approximately 0800 hours on multiple occasions and initiate sexual assaults. She felt unable to refuse his advances due to her vulnerable situation and dependence on the job.

These incidents continued until September when the victim’s health started to deteriorate. At this point, the suspect took her to Victoria Hospital, where she was diagnosed as pregnant. It is alleged that the suspect arranged for an abortion, which had significant adverse effects on her health.

In response to this serious matter, the Kira Road Division launched an investigation. The victim underwent a medical examination to confirm her condition and document physical injuries. A witness statement from someone who assisted the victim after her escape from the suspect’s residence has also been recorded.

The suspect, Mohamed Mohsen, has been apprehended and has cooperated with the police during interviews.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police emphasizes its commitment to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation. Updates on the case will be provided through official communication channels as the inquiry progresses. The primary goal is to ensure justice is served, and the rights and safety of all individuals are safeguarded.
