Two individuals have been remanded to Mambugu Government Prison following separate court cases in Kagadi District.
The first case involves Adam Komujuni, a 24-year-old resident of Nyakoma Cell, Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi District, who is facing charges of malicious damage to a government vehicle.
According to the court, on December 29, 2024, Komujuni damaged a Uganda Police motor vehicle with registration number UP 9454 in Muhorro Town. The suspect appeared before court and pleaded guilty to the charges.
However, due to the absence of the state prosecutor, the court decided to remand him until January 17, 2025, for cross-examination and sentencing.
In a separate case, an 18-year-old woman, Asiimwe Loy Leticia, was also remanded to Mambugu Government Prison on charges of theft.
The court, presided over by His Worship Edward Kayukyi, heard that on December 23, 2024, Asiimwe, a resident of Kiraba Lower Cell, Kagadi Town Council, stole 350,000 shillings from Bwambale Bright, a resident of the same area.
Asiimwe pleaded guilty to the charges, and her case was adjourned until January 16, 2025, for cross-examination and sentencing.
Both individuals will remain in custody until their next court appearances, as the legal process continues in Kagadi.
