Lira CPS Police Investigating Assault and Malicious Damage on Lira-Based Artist Lil Square

Lira, Uganda – The territorial police in Lira CPS are investigating a case of assault and malicious damage to property against Lira-based artist Ogwang Walter, alias Lil Square, allegedly perpetrated by Awio Isaac.

On January 3, 2025, a disturbing incident occurred where local artist Ogwang Walter was allegedly assaulted and his vehicle maliciously damaged by a team of individuals.




According to the North Kyoga Region Police PRO, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the suspects, led by Awio Isaac, reportedly demanded money from Ogwang before hiring six bouncers to carry out the attack on Obote Avenue.




Eyewitnesses reported that Awio and his accomplices parked their vehicle in front of Ogwang’s white Toyota Max 2 Grand, registration number UAU 045Q, and proceeded to assault him. They also damaged the vehicle’s front windshield.




The police responded promptly to the scene, apprehended some of the suspects, and took them to Lira City CPS for further investigation.

A case of assault and malicious damage has been registered at Lira City CPS.

The Uganda Police Force strongly condemns the act of violence perpetrated by Awio and his accomplices against Ogwang Walter.




“We will investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that the perpetrators of violence are brought to justice,” said Okema. “We appeal to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police as we work to resolve this matter.”
