A domestic dispute in Mosque Zone, Kibuli Parish, Makindye Division, turned fatal on December 27, 2023, claiming the lives of Senkungu Arnold, a 24-year-old barber, and Atwine Shina, a 21-year-old student. ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan, reported that neighbors discovered fresh blood and forced entry into Senkungu’s house, finding him alive but succumbing to injuries at Kibuli Hospital. Tragically, Atwine was found dead with a deep neck wound.

Owoyesigyire revealed that Senkungu had multiple injuries, and the couple, reportedly in a troubled marriage, displayed signs of ongoing issues. Information from a friend of Atwine indicated mistreatment, and she had purchased a new knife, hinting at possible premeditation.

The police, assisted by the Homicide Unit, uncovered a scene of struggle with a new knife bearing fresh blood. Witness statements were recorded to aid the ongoing investigation. The bodies were taken to the City Mortuary for post-mortem examination, and the police urged anyone with information to come forward to support the pursuit of justice.
