Man Kills Brother over 5,000 Shilling Debt in Kasese

Police in Kasese district have arrested a 34-year-old man on allegations of killing his biological brother over 5,000 shillings.

The incident happened in Buhaghura village, Rukoki Sub County. The acting Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson, SP Luke Mbusa, has identified the deceased as Kisanjya Zephanus and the suspect as Kisanjya Phinehas.




The two reportedly started the fight at a bar in Kathoma trading center when Phinehas accused his brother of failing to repay him the money.




Mbusa said that following the fight, the suspect stabbed the victim in the neck and stomach, and he died instantly.




Emmy Muhindo Kitsama, the chairperson of local council three for Rukoki sub-county, said that after committing the crime, the suspect reported to the area defense secretary before surrendering himself to the local police.
