The Police have concluded investigations into the alleged theft of 214 iron sheets from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM). Two suspects are in custody and are set to appear in Entebbe Court. The suspects, Rose Nassaka and Margret Musoke, both residents of Nkumba, Entebbe, face charges of receiving stolen property, retaining stolen property, conspiracy to commit a felony, and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor.
The iron sheets, labeled as government property belonging to the OPM, were recovered following a raid on a residence in Bufulu Zone, Nkumba. The suspects were arrested after being found in possession of the stolen iron sheets. The State Attorney has recommended charges against them after reviewing the case file.
This incident is part of a broader issue, as several individuals, including ministers, are currently facing charges related to the alleged theft of iron sheets intended for the Karamoja sub-region. The investigation continues, and the suspects are scheduled to appear in court.
