Two Suspects Dead, Cattle Recovered as Police Foil Theft in Nakasajja

Nagalama police officers this morning successfully intercepted suspected cattle thieves at Nakasajja Trading Centre, rescuing three heads of cattle that were being transported in a white Toyota Prado TX with registration number UAZ 797G.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred on May 14th, 2025, at approximately 3:00 AM. While conducting a routine patrol at Kalagi Trading Centre along Gayaza Road, officers from Nagalama Police Station noticed a suspicious-looking Prado TX.




When the police signaled the vehicle to stop, the occupants sped off, leading to a pursuit. The chase ended at Nakasajja Trading Centre, where the vehicle was intercepted.




During the operation, some suspects managed to flee the scene. Tragically, two other suspects sustained injuries and were pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.




Police are currently working to determine the origin of the recovered cattle and to identify the suspects who escaped. The bodies of the deceased suspects remain unidentified and have been taken to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

ASP Owoyesigyire commended the officers of Nagalama Police Station for their vigilance and swift response to the situation. Further details regarding the incident will be provided as the investigation progresses.
