As Christians worldwide welcomed the dawn of 2024 with prayers and celebrations, Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga of Christian Life Church Makerere-Kavule encouraged believers to dedicate the new year to hard work, aiming for abundance for themselves, their families, and the world.

Christian congregations gathered in churches globally to express gratitude for the past year and seek blessings for the future. At Christian Life Church in Makerere-Kavule, worshipers filled the venue, and the atmosphere was vibrant with music and lights as the clock struck midnight, marking the beginning of the new year.

Amidst shouts of praise and jubilation, hymns, and prayers, Pastor Ssenyonga called on Christians to make 2024 a year of diligent work to combat poverty. He emphasized the importance of working for capital accumulation, employment opportunities, and personal renewal.

Addressing believers who rely solely on prayer without accompanying it with proactive efforts, Ssenyonga stressed the need to sow substantial seeds through hard work, citing the principle of seed multiplication for abundant blessings. Quoting Isaiah 37:30, he conveyed a message of faith in God’s provision, encouraging believers to sow, reap, and cultivate a mindset of abundance.

In addition to advocating hard work, Ssenyonga urged Christians to embrace the power of charity, emphasizing the importance of assisting the destitute, the poor, and the maimed as part of their commitment to fighting poverty.
