The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) National Management Committee has announced key appointments in a weekly meeting led by His Eminence Sheikh Mohammad Ali Waiswa, the Deputy Mufti of Uganda.
Haj Ali Juma Ngobi, an economist, has been appointed as the Secretary for Finance & Planning, while Kagiiko Imam Shaffi, holding a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, has been named the Secretary for Social Services. These appointments are pending approval from the relevant Council organs.
The newly appointed officials, Ngobi and Shaffi, step into their roles, replacing Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye and Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali, respectively.
In his congratulatory message on behalf of the Mufti, Sheikh Waiswa explained that these changes aim to infuse new ideals and systems into the management, aligning with the recommendations of a technical committee and the UMSC Constitution.
Highlighting the unique nature of UMSC as a religious institution, Sheikh Waiswa emphasized the dedication and devotion to serving Almighty Allah. He expressed the belief that the changes would contribute to enhancing the management’s effectiveness in service delivery.
“We are here to serve Almighty Allah with dedication and devotion, and it is Him to reward,” remarked Sheikh Waiswa. He urged the newly appointed officials to advocate for professionalism, further enriching the management with effective systems for better service delivery.
