Lira City Woman MP and Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, launched the rehabilitation of a 1 km road connecting to Obanga-Pe-Wany Church of Uganda (COU) in Lira City East Division on Friday, February 14, 2025. This initiative aims to improve transportation within the area, benefiting major churches such as Komar Church, Obanga-Pewang, and Truth Fountain Church.
The progress of this project highlights Dr. Aceng’s ongoing commitment to the people of Central Park Cell, Ireda West Ward, Lira City East Division. Alele, a local resident, expressed his appreciation for Aceng’s efforts, stating that it is a pleasure for the church to support Dr. Aceng and wish her success in her political journey ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Peter Oweta, a senior citizen of Central Park, shared that when he arrived in the area in the early 1980s, there were no proper roads. However, he has recently witnessed significant improvements, including the arrival of a grader ordered by Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero to fix the road leading to Obanga-Pewang Church of Uganda, which he finds very encouraging.
Imat Silvia Acio, a church warden at Obanga-Pe-Wany Church of Uganda and a resident of Central Park, commended Dr. Aceng for fixing the road that links the park to the Lira-Soroti highway at the junction where Hotel Komar is located.
Ogwal Andrew, a churchgoer at Obanga-Pewang Church of Uganda and a boda boda rider in Central Park, praised Hon. Aceng Ocero for her kindness and for sacrificing her own funds to support this road project.
Ogwal Charles Ilare, a senior Christian from Obanga-Pe-Wany Church, expressed his happiness for the job well done by Hon. Dr. Jane Aceng Ocero, promising his full support for her in the 2026 general elections.
