Daniel Ojara, Oyam – On Wednesday, the Determine Reliance Empower Aids Free Mental Save (DREAMS) organization empowered a group of 16 child mothers in Oyam Town Council, Oyam District, with 29 goats to boost their livelihoods.
The goats were distributed to groups in both the western and eastern wards of the town council. The western ward received 14 goats, while the eastern ward received 15.
DREAMS, a non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in Oyam District for nine years, annually selects one group of child mothers to provide a year-long support program focused on socio-economic empowerment.
The organization aims to equip child mothers with life skills and business enterprise knowledge to enable them to become self-reliant within their communities.
Scovia Ajok, a beneficiary from the western ward, expressed gratitude to DREAMS for their year-long support in strengthening her livelihood. She stated that the donated goats will enhance her capacity in agricultural enterprises.
Alego Restuter, a DREAMS Ambassador in Oyam Town Council, encouraged the beneficiaries to care for the goats well and utilize them for productive activities to strengthen their businesses in the future.
