The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) is gearing up to host the 12th edition of the CPA Economic Forum, scheduled to take place next month at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe.
Themed “Enhancing the Productive Sectors for Sustainable Development,” this year’s forum aims to explore innovative approaches to develop and harness the potential of Uganda’s productive sectors. CPA Derick Nkajja, the Chief Executive Officer of ICPAU, emphasized the importance of prioritizing sectors such as agriculture, industry, and services, which are pivotal in generating household income and employment opportunities as outlined in the National Development Plans.
“The Government’s emphasis on promoting productive sectors aligns with our objectives to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2040,” noted CPA Nkajja.
The forum is expected to draw participants from diverse fields including accountants, tax consultants, economists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, investment experts, government officials, and development enthusiasts. These stakeholders will engage in thought leadership discussions aimed at formulating economic policy recommendations. These recommendations will be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to influence the national budgeting process.
In addition to policy debates, the forum will feature a range of activities aimed at enhancing participant engagement and well-being. These include a medical camp to provide health services and entertainment sessions featuring performances by Uganda’s leading artists.
The 12th CPA Economic Forum is organized in collaboration with key partners such as MTN Uganda and the Bank of Uganda
