Kampala, Uganda – The Ministry of Education and Sports has announced that the selection exercise for Senior Five students will be held on February 20-21, 2025.
This exercise, crucial for placing students in secondary schools, marks a significant step for those who recently completed their O-Level studies.
Education Minister Janet Museveni stated that the selection process will be fair and transparent, with placements based on students’ performance in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.
“The selection exercise is a critical process that determines the future of our students,” Minister Museveni said. “We urge all stakeholders—parents, teachers, and students—to cooperate with us to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.”
The Minister also reiterated the previously announced first-term reporting date for Senior Five students: Monday, March 3, 2025.
Thousands of students nationwide are expected to participate in the selection exercise, competing for limited spaces in top secondary schools. Education officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth and efficient process.
