Educating children and instilling the fear of the Lord is highlighted as a more valuable legacy than material wealth, according to South Rwenzori Diocese bishop emeritus Jackson Thembo Nzerebende. He asserts that non-material legacies, including good morals and religious values, endure longer than material possessions, which often lead to disputes among relatives. The bishop encourages parents to prioritize the education and moral development of their children.

On December 26, 2023, during the memorial service for Yodesi Kabyanga Musabiri, mother of ICT and national guidance state minister Godfrey Kabbyanga, Bishop Nzerebende reiterated the importance of a non-material legacy. Kabyanga Musabiri, born on December 11, 1940, passed away on September 27, 2022, at the age of 82.

The late Yodesi Kabyanga Musabiri is remembered as an inspirational figure who positively influenced the lives of those around her. Testimonies, such as Jenifer Kule’s, highlight how she played a pivotal role in transforming individuals by advocating for a life free from alcohol and adultery. Loyce Fataki, a member of the Mothers Union, shared how the late Kabyanga instilled values of respect, hospitality, and hard work in her role as a wife.

In addressing the issue of inherited land, Godfrey Kabbyanga advises against its fragmentation. Instead, he suggests collaborative projects on the land, with the proceeds shared among the beneficiaries to avoid conflicts.
