The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has called on all heads of primary and secondary school examination centers to urgently complete the registration of candidates for the 2025 national examinations.
These include the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
In a press statement, UNEB confirmed that July 31, 2025, is the final deadline for candidate registration.
UNEB Executive Director Mr. Dan N. Odongo urged school administrators to use the remaining time to register all eligible learners who may have been left out.
“Heads of centres are advised to make use of the remaining time to register any learners that have not yet been registered,” he stated.
So far, over 1.4 million candidates have been registered—marking a 6.8% increase from the previous year’s figures. UNEB emphasized the importance of ensuring that all registration data is accurate to avoid issues during examinations.
To promote transparency and allow for verification, UNEB has instructed schools to display the candidate registers publicly on school premises. This will enable students and parents to verify both registration status and the accuracy of the submitted data.
In addition, UNEB will provide an SMS verification service so candidates can confirm their registration details remotely.
School heads are reminded that timely and accurate registration is critical to a smooth examination process.
