While rumors of the 2024 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results being released this Friday, February 7th, have circulated, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has yet to make a formal announcement, The Ankole Times has learned. Reports claiming a Friday release appear to be unsubstantiated.
A UNEB official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed a meeting on Wednesday evening at State House Nakasero between UNEB and Ministry of Education officials, including the Minister (First Lady Janet Museveni).
However, the official declined to confirm whether the meeting concerned the UCE results. “I think we will find out later today when they return from the meeting,” the official stated before ending the call.
The Ankole Times later learned that the State House meeting focused on the “Education Policy Review Report.” The Education Policy Review Commission Chairperson, Hon. Col. (Rtd.) Nuwe Amanya Mushega, along with State Ministers Hon. Monica Kaducu (Primary Education) and John Chrysestom Muyingo (Higher Education), presented the report to the Minister.

The report includes stakeholder memoranda, public hearing findings, nationwide consultation results, benchmarking studies, analysis of educational performance, and a comprehensive review of Uganda’s education, training, and sports system.
Sources within The Ankole Times newsroom indicate the 2024 UCE results are expected soon, possibly as early as Tuesday 11th Feb, next week.
The 2024 UCE results will be the second set of national examination results released this year, following the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results in last Month.
