Vincent Lubega Nsamba Elected as Makerere University’s 90th Guild President

Vincent Lubega Nsamba, representing the National Unity Platform (NUP), has secured victory as the institution’s 90th Guild President in a closely contested election at Makerere University. The outcome was announced by the Makerere University 90th Electoral Commission following an online voting process held on March 7, 2024.

Nsamba’s triumph was achieved with a slim margin, as his nearest contender, Ariho Edmond, closely trailed with 2536 votes, securing the position of second runner-up with only a four-vote difference. Kasekende Fulungensio claimed the third runner-up spot with 1674 votes, while Wandukwa Simon secured the fourth runner-up position with 1039 votes. Notably, a total of 16 candidates competed for the Makerere 90th Guild presidency in this election cycle.
