Residents of Gulu City had an enjoyable weekend as Bell Lager organized a mini-ObaFest experience at Kweyo Village. This event preceded the first-ever ObaFest scheduled for Sunday, October 22, at Jahazi Pier.

The Gulu experience featured entertainment from local artists like Pato Loverboy, Pretty B, the Dance Masters Troupe, and Eezy. The event was skillfully hosted by MCs Mercy, Young Moni, and Lucky.

Bell Lager’s ObaFest is a beer festival that celebrates East African cuisine, music, and culture. The Gulu event provided the city’s residents with a glimpse of what the festival will offer. This included the opportunity to savor cuisines from South Sudan, engage in group games like matatu, ludo, snakes and ladders, and enjoy cold Bell Lager to enhance the festive atmosphere.

One exciting element of the experience was a mini parade featuring a convoy of Bell Lager-branded matatus, which are popular means of public transport in Kenya known for their unique designs and lively music. They rolled into the city, adding to the festive spirit.

Grace Amme, the Bell Lager brand manager, expressed her thoughts on the experience, saying, “Gulu was truly a vibe and just a taste of what we have in store for the consumers this Sunday at Jahazi Pier. ObaFest will be a first-of-its-kind celebration of beer, culture, and all that makes us proud to be East African.”
