MultiChoice Uganda has officially launched a riveting reality TV show titled “Kampala Crème,” reinforcing its commitment to providing a diverse array of local programming. The launch event, held at the upscale Mezo Noir in Kololo, marked the introduction of a locally produced lifestyle reality TV show that aims to redefine storytelling in Ugandan television.
The show, set in the vibrant city of Kampala, offers viewers an inside look into the glamorous lives of affluent, youthful, and outgoing Ugandans. The launch party brought stars and guests together for an exclusive preview of “Kampala Crème.”
Featuring four prominent Ugandan female celebrities – Mami Deb, Etania Mutoni, Zahara Toto, and Baby Gloria – the show explores their daily lives, shedding light on aspects beyond the public eye. The producers, Joel and Judithiana Ndugwa, expressed gratitude to MultiChoice for its continuous support to the Ugandan film industry, emphasizing the platform provided for turning creative ideas into tangible projects.
Rinaldi Jamugisa, Head of PR and Communications at MultiChoice Uganda, highlighted the significance of the show in elevating the standard of reality TV. Jamugisa emphasized MultiChoice’s dedication to nurturing local talent and venturing into new realms of local content programming to engage a diverse viewership.
“Kampala Crème” is positioned to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the production process, aiming to compete favorably on the international market. The show will air every Sunday at 8:00 pm with repeats every Monday at 2:00 pm on Pearl Magic Prime (DStv Ch 148 & GOtv Ch 303) and Pearl Magic (DStv Ch 161 & GOtv Ch 301).
Acknowledging the positive response to local content channels like Pearl Magic, Pearl Magic Prime, and Pearl Magic Loko, Jamugisa called for continued support from Ugandans to ensure the success and competitiveness of local shows on both local and international platforms.
