Ugandan artists Zulitums and Fik Fameica made a big impact at the launch of this year’s Coke Studio, which took place on Thursday evening at Motiv. The event marked the start of their participation in the renowned music program and saw the duo unveiling their collaboration for the Coke Studio project.

Their performance of the song ‘Amanyi manji’ left the audience in awe as they witnessed it for the first time. The crowd enthusiastically cheered and sang along with the chorus, showing their support.

Before their joint performance, both artists showcased their individual talents. Zulitums treated the audience to songs like ‘Oluvanyuma,’ ‘Uberman,’ and ‘Easy,’ while Fik Fameica performed ‘Kanzunzu’ and ‘Buligita,’ among others.

The event was an invite-only affair, with the presence of other notable artists such as Hellen Lukoma, Hatim Dookie, and Zex Bilangilangi.

Zulitums and Fik Fameica will share the stage with other well-known talents, including Yung Stunna and Nasty C from South Africa, Mayorkun and Buju from Nigeria, as well as international sensations Sam Smith and Imagine Dragons.

This year’s Coke Studio, headlined by American artist Jon Batiste, marks its return after a two-year hiatus. It features a collaborative anthem titled ‘Embrace Your Authentic Self (The Real Magic),’ which includes K-Pop sensation NewJeans, Grammy winner Camilo, UK singer-songwriter Cat Burns, and Atlanta rapper J.I.D.

Arthur Akankwasa, the senior franchise manager for Coca-Cola in Uganda, expressed his excitement about engaging with a new generation of consumers, especially Gen Z, through this multicultural experience.

He stated, “This season promises to be nothing short of enchanting and inspirational, boasting an impressive lineup of artists carefully selected for the enjoyment of our consumers. This period offers a unique opportunity for Coca-Cola to connect with a new generation of consumers, with a special focus on the Gen Z demographic. In a world where everything is at our fingertips, we’re thrilled to offer a fresh cross-cultural experience that deeply resonates.”
