Okidi Patrick, Nakasongola – On the morning of Monday, August 26, 2024, at around 5:26 AM, EX MPCandidate for Kioga County and NRM flag bearer Felix Adupa Ongwech, who also serves as the President of the Transformer Cadres Association Uganda, narrowly escaped a serious accident in Zengebe, Nakasongola District.

According to eyewitness accounts, Hon. Adupa’s Jeep, a Dodge Nitro, slid into a deep pit that had been excavated for drainage along the road. The accident was reportedly caused by a reckless Fuso lorry driver who had parked in the pathway, obstructing visibility for vehicles attempting to overtake.

Police officers stationed at the Zengebe ferry were quick to respond, arriving at the scene to evacuate Hon. Adupa Ongwech, who sustained minor injuries. A breakdown service van was immediately mobilized to recover the vehicle from the pit.

The Savannah Regional Traffic Commander confirmed the incident and praised the prompt response of the police officers from Zengebe and Nakasongola.
