Moses Hassim Magogo, the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and Member of Parliament for Uganda-Budiope East, has voiced concern over the prioritization of foreign football at the expense of Ugandan football. As the Chair of the ICT Committee of Parliament, Magogo emphasized the importance of financing and promoting Ugandan football over foreign leagues.

Magogo highlighted the responsibility of influential figures in Ugandan society, including politicians, religious leaders, celebrities, cultural leaders, and members of the armed forces, to set an example by supporting local football clubs. He urged them to identify with at least one Ugandan football club to demonstrate their commitment to the development of domestic talent.

Acknowledging that many individuals have previously supported and propagated foreign football, Magogo emphasized the need to recognize this as a form of indoctrination. However, he emphasized that it is not too late to break free from these mental chains and redirect support towards Ugandan football clubs.

Magogo personally declared his support for Ugandan football by stating that he is a proud funder of FC Kampala and a lifetime supporter of SC Villa Jogoo. He encouraged others to follow suit, even if their support is initially met with opposition, reaffirming his commitment to his stance on supporting local football.

Magogo addressed various stakeholders, including FUFA, FUFA TV, FUFA Radio, the Ugandan government, Parliament of Uganda, media outlets such as Daily Monitor, New Vision, NTV Uganda, NBS TV, Red Pepper Uganda, and NBSport Uganda, urging them to join him in championing the cause of Ugandan football.
