Busoga Sub-Region Receives Iron Sheets from Government Initiative

Iron Sheets Delivered to Support Vulnerable Communities in Busoga

(Jinja) – The Minister of State for Luwero, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, has officially launched the distribution of iron sheets aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and institutions in the Busoga sub-region. This event took place at the Jinja District Headquarters on October 11, 2024.

The initiative is part of the Office of the Prime Minister’s efforts to assist communities in need, including schools that require additional support. During the launch, several Members of Parliament and local leaders from the Busoga area were in attendance.




Minister Kaboyo emphasized the government’s commitment to working closely with local leaders to ensure effective service delivery. “The Office of the Prime Minister, through the Ministry of Luwero Triangle-Busoga Affairs, is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders, especially local leaders, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. During the Financial Year 2023/2024, the Ministry procured a total of 15,333 iron sheets for Busoga Sub-Region,” she stated.




Kaboyo further expressed her dedication to supporting Busoga through various micro-projects. “It is possible to lift our people out of poverty if we embrace government programs and take advantage of interventions aimed at increasing household incomes in this sub-region,” she said.




The Minister urged local leaders to collaborate with their respective Members of Parliament and technical leaders. She stressed the importance of coordinating the identification and distribution of resources to ensure that the communities benefit from government initiatives.

Looking ahead, Minister Kaboyo announced plans for the coming Financial Year 2024/2025, indicating that her Ministry intends to procure an additional 15,000 iron sheets for distribution to vulnerable veterans and institutions in the region.
