The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Kahinda Otafiire, attended the graduation ceremony held at the Police Training School in Kabalye, Masindi. The event marked the culmination of the six-month Officer Basic Course Intake 06/23-24. A total of 261 officers successfully completed this intensive training program.
Minister Otafiire, accompanied by senior police officials and dignitaries, addressed the newly graduated officers during the ceremony. He commended their dedication and emphasized the importance of upholding law and order in Uganda. The Minister highlighted the role of trained officers in maintaining peace and security across the country.
The ceremony featured various demonstrations showcasing the skills acquired by the officers during their training. These demonstrations included tactical maneuvers, crowd control techniques, and first aid simulations. Such practical displays underscored the comprehensive nature of the Officer Basic Course in preparing officers for real-world scenarios.
In his address, Minister Otafiire stressed the government’s commitment to investing in law enforcement training and infrastructure. He reaffirmed the importance of continuous professional development for police officers to adapt to evolving challenges in the field. The Minister also encouraged the newly graduated officers to serve with integrity and uphold the highest ethical standards.
The graduation ceremony was a moment of pride for the families and loved ones of the graduating officers. Many attendees expressed their support and admiration for the dedication shown by the officers throughout their training. The Police Training School in Kabalye, Masindi, commissioned in 2005 has shaped the future of Uganda’s police force for nearly 20 years. It serves as a center of excellence where officers receive specialized training in various aspects of law enforcement.
