Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja addressed potential investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the 2nd annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. She emphasized Uganda’s recognition as a top investment destination in East Africa, as acknowledged at the Annual Investment Meeting in Abu Dhabi in May.
Nabbanja highlighted Uganda’s status as a rapidly growing East African nation with a flourishing tourism sector, complemented by investment-friendly policies and laws. Additionally, she emphasized the country’s enduring peace and stability, making it an attractive destination for potential investors.
Nabbanja noted that Uganda boasts the youngest population in the region, with an average age of 17.5 years, offering a highly trainable labor force for businesses.
Rasheed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, the head of the UAE delegation and undersecretary at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, recognized Uganda as a gateway for doing business in East Africa. He stressed the importance of creating a secure environment for investors and urged both countries to translate previously signed agreements and memoranda of understanding into tangible business initiatives.
The 2nd annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum provided a platform for productive discussions and collaboration between the two nations.
