On September 4, 2023, the Uganda Police Force and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in India signed an agreement to work together more closely. This agreement is a significant step in improving cooperation between these two institutions.

The signing ceremony took place at the Police Headquarters in Naguru. AIGP Golooba Godfrey, the Director of Human Resource Development, represented the Uganda Police, while RRU was represented by its Director, Manoj Bhatt. India’s High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Upender Singh Rawat, was also present.

Director Golooba spoke about the benefits of the agreement, saying it would help improve law enforcement in Uganda. He emphasized the importance of professionalism and development and thanked everyone involved for their cooperation. He also expressed optimism about the stronger relationship that would benefit the people of Uganda.

Director RRU talked about their flexible programs, which can be customized to meet the needs of different institutions. He also suggested forming a team from both sides to coordinate their efforts.

This collaboration was made possible with the support of the Leela Foundation and the Tirupati family, represented by Mr. Miraj Barot and Juhi Barot.

As part of this collaboration, India has generously offered more than 100 opportunities to the Uganda Police for further education and training in various fields. This marks a significant step toward mutual growth and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
