The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) is extending a warm welcome to all runners, visitors, and supporters arriving in Kasese for the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon. This year’s marathon is set to be a special event, attracting participants not only from Uganda but also from 32 other countries.
The marathon will take place against the backdrop of Kasese’s breathtaking landscapes, with the majestic Rwenzori Mountains providing a unique and scenic setting for the race. The UPDF has committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the event, allowing participants to focus on the race and enjoy their experience in Kasese.
The UPDF has asked for the cooperation of all attendees, urging them to report any suspicious activity or concerns to the nearest security personnel or UPDF officers, who will be stationed throughout the event. The presence of UPDF officers is intended to reassure participants and provide immediate assistance should any issues arise.
The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon celebrates the spirit of resilience, determination, and unity, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds. Since its launch in 2022, the event has been a platform for promoting health, supporting athletes, and raising awareness about environmental conservation.
