Uganda Police Force Announces Recruitment for Probationer Police Constables in North Kyoga Region

The Uganda Police Force has opened its recruitment process for the position of Probationer Police Constables in the North Kyoga Region, calling on youth interested in joining the force to apply. This announcement follows a public notice released on March 11, 2025, encouraging qualified candidates aged between 18 and 25 years to submit their applications.

The Uganda Police Force seeks dedicated and committed individuals who are ready to serve and protect their communities, offering them a chance to build a meaningful career in law enforcement. Interested candidates must meet specific criteria to be considered for recruitment, which includes several educational, physical, and legal requirements.




Minimum Requirements for Recruitment:




  1. Ugandan Citizenship: Applicants must be Ugandan nationals, with a valid National ID or confirmation from NIRA.

  2. Criminal Record: Candidates must have no criminal record.

  3. Physical and Medical Fitness: Applicants should be in excellent physical and medical condition, ready to undergo rigorous training.

  4. Work Readiness: Applicants should be prepared to work long hours and adapt to challenging conditions, which may include deployment to different parts of the country.

  5. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are required, both written and oral.

  6. Other Forces: Applicants must not currently be serving or have served in any other security forces.

Education Requirements:




Candidates must hold at least a UCE certificate or its equivalent from a sitting no earlier than 2020, with the following conditions:

  • At least four credits, including either English or Mathematics, and a pass in other subjects (traditional grading system).
  • Alternatively, at least four “C” grades, including either English or Mathematics, and a minimum “D” grade in other subjects (Competency-Based System).

How to Apply:

Applicants are required to submit handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police. The applications must include:




  • Photocopies of academic certificates.
  • A photocopy of the National ID.
  • Three recent passport-size photographs.
  • An introductory letter from the previous school attended.
  • Recommendation letters from the LCI, LCIll, and RDC of the applicant’s district.

The completed application file must be delivered to the respective Police District or Divisional Headquarters no later than Friday, March 21, 2025.

Important Notes:

  • Impersonation, presentation of forged documents, or the concealment of information will lead to disqualification and possible legal action.
  • All stages of the recruitment process are completely free of charge, and applicants should not be paying any fees during the process.
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, and applicants with a valid driving permit will be given additional consideration.
  • Applicants with higher academic qualifications are not eligible to apply.

Upon successful completion of the Police Basic Training, successful candidates will be appointed into the Uganda Police Force.
