Ngora District, Uganda – Nearly 1,500 women leaders from across Ngora District recently completed a two-day training program focused on leadership skills and financial literacy.
The training, organized by the Jacqueline Amongin Development Foundation (JADEF) in partnership with the Ministry of Gender’s Grow project and the Ngora District Local Government, aimed to empower women and raise awareness of available opportunities.
The curriculum covered a range of critical topics, including women in leadership, women and climate action, women’s education, and available government programs.
Organizers emphasized the importance of access to information, particularly for rural women often excluded from technology and other resources. A key focus was promoting the effective utilization of the Parish Development Model (PDM) program.
Hon. Jacqueline Amongin, was recently appointed the Women’s Council Representative for the Teso sub-region and is affiliated with the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).
She highlighted the importance of women’s leadership in driving community development.
The PLU tasked its leaders with engaging local stakeholders, mobilizing citizens, and promoting initiatives aligned with Uganda’s Vision 2040.

JADEF works closely with communities to address critical issues such as poverty, corruption, and the mismanagement of public resources.
This training program represents a significant step toward empowering women in Ngora District and fostering sustainable development.
