Libino Byamukama, Kabale – Kabale District, led by District Chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija, has today distributed 784 iron sheets and 237 kg of nails to 11 schools from town councils and sub-counties.
Addressing the headteachers from the benefiting schools at the District Headquarters, Nelson Nshangabasheija warned against any acts of corruption.
Nshangabasheija urged the teachers to utilize the iron sheets fully for the benefit of students.
The Kabale District Education Officer, Mr. Moses Bwengye Tumwijukye, said that the district roofs buildings that are complete.
He warned the benefiting schools against storing the iron sheets. He further challenged schools that had not finished construction to leave the iron sheets at the district rather than keeping them in makeshift stores at schools.
Manzi Gordon, the Kabale District Principal Assistant Secretary who represented the Kabale District Chief Administration Officer, challenged the headteachers to immediately use the iron sheets to avoid misappropriations.
The benefiting schools are Kiniogo Primary School, Kicumbi Primary School, Rwene Primary School, Mayengo Primary School, Karujanga Primary School, Kitooma Primary School, Kirwa Primary School, Nyakigugwe Primary School, Kikyenkye Primary School, Kamuronko Primary School, and Bwera Primary School.
