Hajji Issa Tindyebwa, Chairperson of the Kabale Muslim District Supreme Council, has urged President Museveni to visit the Muslim headquarters in Kabale Municipality, which is situated between the Catholic and Anglican headquarters.

Tindyebwa expressed disappointment that despite numerous invitations and requests, the President has never visited the Muslim headquarters during his 36 years in power.

Tindyebwa made these remarks during a one-day training workshop organized by the Kabale Muslim Supreme Council for Mosque and County/Twaale leaders. He also requested Rukiga district LC5 chairperson, Mr. Robert Mbabazi Kakwerere, to consider including the only Rukiga Muslim Nursery and Primary School in government programs for better resources and support.

Furthermore, Tindyebwa decried the marginalization of the Muslim community in the district service committee and requested the district chairman to ensure religious balance on the committee.

Sheikh Kaabu Lule, the Kabale district Kadhi, also condemned the grabbing of Muslim land in Rushebeya by wealthy individuals.

In response, Rukiga district RDC Zadoki Kamusiime pledged to write to the organizing committee to request a meeting between President Museveni and the Muslim community during his upcoming visit to the Kigezi sub-region.

The Rukiga district LC5 chairperson, Mr. Robert Mbabazi Kakwerere, advised Muslims in Rukiga district to legally document their land ownership to prevent further encroachment.
