Ndorwa West Councilors Conduct Meetings Outdoors Due to Lack of Hall

Byamukama Libino, Kable – Local leaders in Kibuga Sub County, Ndorwa West, Kabale District, are lamenting the absence of a council hall at the sub-county headquarters, which has forced them to conduct activities in the compound.

The local leaders revealed their challenges yesterday during the distribution of piglets by Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire in three parishes: Rutare, Kibuga, and Karujanjanga, all in Kibuga Sub County.

The LC3 Chairman for Kibuga Sub County, Mr. Kamugisha Vincent, explained that the sub-county boardroom is currently being used as the council hall, but it has a seating capacity of less than 20 people.

He added that this has affected council sessions, with most councilors having nowhere to sit, forcing them to carry out activities in the compound, especially when receiving visitors.

The Kibuga Sub County LC3 Chairman further said that the situation worsens during rainfall.

Female Councilor Praise Ampeire, representing Katuna Town Council and Kibuga Sub County, noted that councilors often stand during sessions due to limited space, with even the chairman, speaker, and councilors’ seats being insufficient.

In response, Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire pledged to follow up on the issue.

Kibuga Sub County, one of the newly created sub-counties, faces this challenge, and the leaders are eager to find a solution.
