Kabale Vicar General Warns Against Social Ills, Urges Youth to Uphold Christian Values

Kabale Diocese Vicar General, Msgr. John Vianney Sunday, representing Bishop Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, cautioned Christians against drug abuse, alcoholism, and other harmful practices during the confirmation ceremony at Buhara Parish, Ndorwa East on October 22, 2024.

In his homily, Msgr. Sunday expressed deep concern over the increasing prevalence of criminality, witchcraft, and substance abuse within the community. He urged Christians to abstain from these vices, citing instances of animal skins being used for malicious purposes.




Msgr. Sunday denounced murder, suicide, and substance abuse, highlighting their devastating consequences, including deaths resulting from multiple organ failure. He emphasized the destructive impact of alcoholism on families, education, and social behavior.




The Vicar General challenged the 430 newly confirmed youths to become responsible pillars of the church, to respect their parents, and to reject harmful behaviors.




Additionally, Ndorwa East MP Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba and Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira promoted national ID registration.
