KALANGALA – Police in the island district of Kalangala are investigating the drowning of one of their own officers, PPC Ibrahim Mwesigwa (No. 78497), who tragically lost his life while attempting to learn how to sail a boat on Lake Victoria.
Mwesigwa was attached to Bwendero Police Station in Bujumba sub-county. According to a police incident report, Mwesigwa and his colleague, Godfrey Waiswa, were tasked with guarding the UNRA vessel MV BBB at the Nkuusi docking point.
“At around 5 pm yesterday (Friday), they took the keys to a parked fiberglass boat attached to the vessel and went out to learn how to sail it.
