Kattikiro Charles Peter Mayiga has finally yielded to demands and directed the CBS top management to inform Meddie Nsereko, the political moderator for CBS, to invite and host LoP Joel Ssenyonyi, a key ally of National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobiwine.
As per the details acquired by this website, presenter Meddie Nsereko, an experienced political talk show host on CBS, stated that his superiors have now permitted him to proceed, and Ssenyonyi will be a featured guest on the Kiriza oba Gana program, which broadcasts on 89.2 FM every weekday from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Either Alex Waisswa Mufumbiro or David Lewis Rubongoya is set to become a regular panelist on the Saturday Parliament Yaffe program to effectively respond to the outspoken Hon Abed Bwanika, Imam Kasozi, Yusuf Nsibambi, Kasule Sebunya, and others known for criticizing Bobi Wine and his NUP supporters.
Furthermore, the CBS reporters from the Greater Masaka area, particularly Tomusange Kayinja, have also shown overt bias towards NUP, which posed a risk to the media house’s standing in Buganda and prompted the Buganda premier to reconsider his stance.
Despite holding significant support in the Central region, NUP has often faced unfavorable treatment at the Bulange-based station. The NUP leadership and its supporters have at times clashed with Mengo’s senior officials, whether directly or indirectly. This tension was reportedly intensified by NUP supporters, particularly blogger Fred Lumbuye, whom kingdom officials accused of spreading threats and negativity.
Following the recent decline in the Kabaka’s health, the relationship between the two organizations has soured. This was made worse with the Kavule-based party’s sacking of Mathias Mpuuga, who is viewed positively within the kingdom. However, this situation appears to be shifting as a result of the pressures from the station’s audience, who largely consist of Baganda.
