The Kisoro United Boda-Boda Operators (KUBO) have resolved to resume construction of their long-awaited building project, recently halted due to internal disagreements.

The UGX 250 million project, located on Chuho Road near Vienna Guest House in Kisoro Municipality, began in late 2022 but was suspended in mid-2023 after reaching the foundation stage. The suspension followed disagreements among members demanding financial accountability from the association’s leadership.

During an executive meeting at Three Way Guest House in the Southern Division of Kisoro Municipality, KUBO Chairperson Habiyaremye Robert Kalangala announced that construction would resume as soon as possible.

Kalangala cautioned against those attempting to undermine KUBO’s development efforts and urged boda-boda operators to prioritize hygiene and discipline to maintain their professional reputation.

KUBO General Secretary Baker Batamukoraho assured members that financial accountability reports would be provided every six months to enhance transparency and improve planning and management.

Batamukoraho also encouraged boda-boda riders to cooperate with traffic police, emphasizing that collaboration would improve their livelihoods and working conditions.

Stage leaders attending the meeting welcomed the resolution. However, they expressed concerns about alleged harassment by traffic police, which they said was negatively impacting their operations.
