Lango College Old Boys’ Association (LACOBA) class of 2004-2007 handed over the keys to a renovated students’ noticeboard valued at 700,000 UGX to school administrators. Association chairperson Bonny Otucu, also Assistant Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Lira City, and Secretary General Moris Ogwal, a Lira City High Court transcriber, were present.

Otucu advised student leaders to care for the noticeboard, which will aid in disseminating important announcements. LACOBA representatives shared inspiring stories with students, offering career guidance and motivation. Ogwal encouraged A-level students to prepare for a court familiarization tour, while Otucu emphasized the importance of academics and sports, recalling Lango College’s past triumphs in these areas.

Commissioner Otucu discussed patriotism, urging students to be good citizens and expressing optimism about Uganda’s future under current leadership. He challenged the school to revive the patriotism club and reaffirmed LACOBA’s commitment to supporting the school.

Founded in 1961, Lango College has had 20 different headteachers, with Sam Bob Okino currently leading the school.

Renowned for its academic and sporting excellence, the college benefits from LACOBA’s efforts to inspire and motivate students to maintain this legacy. With approximately 200 members, LACOBA holds an annual general meeting every December.
