Kole District, Uganda – In a rare twist of events, a prominent school director in Kole District, Mr. Aligi Johnson of Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School, has donated UGX 10 million in cash to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to support his 2026 presidential campaign.

Mr. Aligi publicly handed over the cash to senior presidential advisor Hon. Sam Engola, asking him to deliver the money to President Museveni as a token of appreciation for his peaceful and visionary leadership.

“I want to officially thank the President for granting us a peaceful environment and enabling us to celebrate the 63rd Independence Day,” said Mr. Aligi.
“This contribution of UGX 10 million is from my heart and my family. I wish him a prosperous campaign.”

Mr. Aligi, the director of Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School, emphasized that the donation was a gesture of gratitude for the prevailing peace in Northern Uganda.

“As someone who grew up during the insurgency, I remember the fear and instability caused by rebel activity. I had to hide from the LRA. It was President Museveni who brought peace to our region,” he added.

Hon. Sam Engola confirmed to The Ankole Times that he received the UGX 10 million on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and would deliver it to President Museveni in person.

“I will officially hand over the envelope to the President during his upcoming campaign visit to Lira,” Engola said.

He also noted that Akalo Comprehensive Secondary School currently has over 1,200 students, a storeyed building, and other developments, attributing its progress to the stable leadership under the NRM government.

Hon. Engola further expressed confidence that President Museveni would win 100% of the votes in Erute South in the 2026–2031 general elections.
