On Saturday, many social media users took to various WhatsApp forums to thank the Office of the President, particularly highlighting the efforts of RCC Egole Lawrence, DRCC Odongo Stephen, ARCC Bonny Ferdinand Alele, and Boney Otucu. They described the team as a strong and committed group working around the clock to ensure that government programs and services are effectively implemented, in line with the directives of His Excellency the President.
Lira City residents have commended the President’s office in Lira City for its commendable work in fighting corruption and promoting socio-economic transformation in accordance with presidential directives and several initiatives.
One key reason for the praise is the presence of an effective team in Lira City. RCC Egole Lawrence Emmy is recognized as a calm and strategic leader, working alongside political and economic commentator Bonny Okello Alele, and University Don of Social Sciences/Business. They are effectively addressing issues affecting society in Lira City in a timely manner. Otucu Bonny, the IT specialist and political administrator, along with Stephen Odongo, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner and social scientist with exceptional records from Alebtong, are facilitating citizen engagement and responsiveness. Another resident wrote: “I wish to extend my sincerest gratitude to Resident City Commissioner Lawrence Egole, DRCC East Division Odongo Stephen, and dedicated Assistants Bonny Otucu and Bonny Okello Alele for their tireless efforts in strengthening security and combating corruption within the city. Under the leadership of RCC Egole, the team has worked diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens, creating a secure environment for all. Their unwavering commitment to justice has led to the identification and apprehension of corrupt individuals who sought to extort funds meant for the Parish Development Model (PDM) program.”

Several individuals have been arrested, including the Lira City Commercial Officer, Dr. Okello Odyek, for extortion related to PDM in Lira City, as part of the ongoing efforts by the Office of the Presidency in Lira City.
