Ugandan chef Mama D, also known as Dorcus Bashema Kirabo, recently completed an impressive 144-hour cooking marathon, aiming for recognition by the Guinness World Book of Records. However, her achievement faces a potential challenge from Ghanaian chef Faila Abdul Razak, who claims to have nearly matched Mama D’s record and sets his sights on an ambitious 240-hour feat.
While Mama D eagerly awaits official recognition from Guinness, news of Faila’s attempt has emerged, stirring competition and unsettling the Ugandan chef’s sense of accomplishment. Determined to defend her title, Mama D plans to organize another cookathon, aiming to surpass Faila’s goal of 240 hours.
In response to Faila’s challenge, Mama D expressed her determination to set a new record and invited Ugandans to support her during the upcoming cookathon, just as they did in her initial attempt.
“We are creating a new one, and we break its virginity as Ugandans… All I need is many people in attendance every day,” Mama D stated, addressing her fans and the challenge posed by the Ghanaian chef.
Having already surpassed Irish chef Alan Fisher’s record of 119 hours and 57 minutes, Mama D remains confident in her ability to secure official verification for her remarkable feat. The Ugandan chef is poised to embark on another culinary marathon, showcasing her resilience and determination to maintain her status in the Guinness World Book of Records.
