MTN Uganda Surpasses 50% Women in Workforce Target

MTN, Uganda’s leading corporate entity, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing its goal of having an equal ratio of men to women in its workforce. Currently, 51% of MTN’s employees are female, demonstrating the company’s commitment to gender diversity.

The company had set a target to reach a 50% gender balance by 2025 as part of its Ambition 2025 strategy. By the end of 2022, MTN Uganda had already reached 49% female employees. In just under a year, MTN Uganda has exceeded its 2025 target by 1%.




In addition to maintaining gender balance in its workforce, MTN Uganda has been recognized as one of the top employers in the country by the Federation of Uganda Employers. The company is actively working to increase the representation of women in management positions. Currently, 38% of the Senior Executive Leadership roles are held by women, and 36% of Leadership positions are also occupied by women.
