Following his recent birthday celebrations, President Yoweri Museveni took to social media to reflect on the broader significance of the occasion, underscoring that the festivities were not solely about him but about the collective achievements of the Ugandan people.

In his message, Museveni emphasized the importance of the country’s ongoing struggle for development and progress, a cause to which he has dedicated much of his life. “The celebrations were not only for Museveni because I didn’t do all this on my own. We are celebrating the struggle of the people of Uganda, in which I have been very active, but the success is for all of us,” he stated.

During his reflections, the President also noted key improvements in housing within the Luweero Triangle, an area symbolic of Uganda’s liberation struggle. He recalled the humble beginnings, where homes were predominantly grass-thatched, compared to today’s widespread use of brick, cement, and iron roofing.

This transformation, he pointed out, is indicative of the steady progress Uganda has made since the war era.

The President’s remarks come at a time when the country is reflecting on its developmental journey and the ongoing efforts to uplift communities across Uganda.
