President Yoweri Museveni, along with his wife, Maama Janet, spent the day at Kisozi farm, engaging with leaders from Gomba and Sembabule districts. They were joined by exemplary farmers who provided insights into their wealth creation activities.

During the visit, President Museveni invited mobilizers and the Youth Minister, Hon. Barugahara, to learn about the progress made by neighboring communities in fighting poverty and enhancing household incomes. This initiative stems from a pilot project initiated in 2011, benefiting nine villages.

The core message of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) regarding wealth creation remains steadfast, according to the president. The testimonies shared by farmers reaffirm the significance of commercial agriculture, particularly with initiatives like Ekibaro, in lifting people out of poverty and integrating them into the formal economy.

President Museveni emphasized the importance of consistent efforts towards wealth creation, underscoring the role of agricultural development in transforming livelihoods. By leveraging resources and knowledge-sharing, communities can collectively work towards economic empowerment.

The president asserted that the visit to Kisozi farm served as a platform for assessing the effectiveness of existing wealth creation programs and identifying areas for improvement. The President and his wife claimed they are actively involved in auditing these activities to ensure that resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.

He emphasized that through collaborative efforts between government institutions, local leaders, and grassroots organizations, the NRM aims to foster sustainable development and prosperity in rural communities. By empowering farmers and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives, Uganda can achieve long-term economic growth and reduce poverty levels.

A statement from the NRM party party claimed President Museveni’s commitment to wealth creation underscores the government’s dedication to addressing socio-economic challenges and improving the quality of life for all citizens, and that ss the audit of wealth creation activities continues in Kisozi, the government remains focused on implementing strategies that drive inclusive growth and prosperity across the nation.
