Fred Enanga, the outgoing Uganda Police Spokesperson, has expressed deep gratitude as he steps down from his role after five years of service. He will now assume the position of Deputy Director of the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations.
Enanga described his tenure as Police Spokesperson as one of the greatest honors of his life. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Almighty God for protection and guidance during his time in office. He also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Leadership for their invaluable support, advice, teamwork, confidence, and trust. Enanga emphasized that he is leaving the position with a strong sense of national duty and excitement for his new role.
Addressing the territorial commanders across various jurisdictions, Enanga thanked them for their unwavering commitment to protecting communities and upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and compassion. He acknowledged their collective efforts in supporting the office of the Police Spokesperson, which positively impacted the safety and well-being of citizens.
Enanga congratulated and welcomed the new Police Spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituma. He praised Kituma as a dedicated and capable individual, reminding him of the immense responsibility ahead. Enanga advised Kituma to always act with integrity and treat every member of the public with respect and compassion.
To the officers and staff of the Press and Public Relations department, Enanga extended his heartfelt gratitude for their support, trust, and loyalty during his tenure. He commended their resilience and dedication to the mission of Press and Public Relations, expressing confidence that the department will continue to thrive under its new leadership.
Enanga also thanked journalists, editors, and government communicators for their commitment, hard work, and collaboration. He highlighted the achievements made in addressing crime, safety, and security concerns, dating back to his roles as CID Liaison Officer in 2007, Police Spokesperson from 2014-2016, and again from 2019 to June 2024. Enanga urged these professionals to maintain sincerity, professionalism, and dedication in their work.
Expressing gratitude to the general public, Enanga acknowledged their insights, criticisms, and feedback, which he found refreshing. He urged the public to prioritize safety and remain committed to working with the police to address crime and safety concerns within their communities.
Enanga extended his deepest thanks to his family, including his wife, children, siblings, parents, relatives, and friends, for their unwavering love and support. He credited their understanding, patience, and encouragement as the foundation of his success.
