Preparations are in high gear in Bugiri district for the launch of the Museveni Awooma mobilization campaign in the Busoga sub-region.
The event, spearheaded by President Museveni and NRM mobilizers under the Museveni Awooma group, will take place tomorrow at Bukooli College grounds.
This initiative aims to mobilize and sensitize the public about various government programs.
Today, the group, led by Ibrahim Musoga, along with the Bugiri Woman MP and other local leaders, conducted community service activities, including cleaning markets and other public areas in Bugiri municipality, in anticipation of tomorrow’s event.
Musoga expressed confidence that President Museveni will attend despite his busy schedule, citing the President’s confirmation during the NRM Liberation Day celebrations in Mubende district.
He emphasized that the program’s core objective is to educate residents on how to access and benefit from various government initiatives, enabling them to experience the positive impact of President Museveni’s leadership.
Musoga and the group’s publicity lead, Lozio Kyagulanyi, called upon NRM leaders in the Busoga region, including Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda, Rebecca Kadaga, all Members of Parliament, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), and others, to support the event and bolster party support in the area.
They also announced a free medical camp and entertainment featuring various artists, including Emma Nsereko (Munamasaka), who composed the “Museveni Awooma” song, and other performers who will entertain the gathering with informative music.
Bugiri Woman MP Agnes Taaka and NRM Chairperson Steven Mutumba welcomed the event, highlighting its timeliness given the need to better inform the public about government programs.
Taaka urged residents of the district and the entire Busoga region to attend in large numbers to demonstrate their appreciation for President Museveni’s achievements, whom they anticipate will be present.
