Patrick Okidi, Kole District – The territorial command in North Kyoga Region led by the Regional Traffic Officer is closely investigating a single fatal accident involving motor vehicle Reg No UAM 450V, which was being driven by Mr. Tibihika Theophilus. SP Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed that it’s alleged that Mr. Tibihika Theophilus, the Town Clerk of Lira City, on May 27, 2024, at around 02:00 hours, in the Barajet area along Lira-Aduku road in Kole District, lost control while driving his motor vehicle, Reg UAM 450V, and allegedly overturned several times, killing him instantly.
Police traffic, led by the RTO North Kyoga SP Okwir Mathias Mulumba, and District Traffic Officer Kole, responded to the scene. A sketch map was drawn, and the body was removed and conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s mortuary pending postmortem.
The motor vehicle was taken to Akalo police station pending IOV inspections.
The cause of the accident is yet to be established, though preliminary findings indicate he could have been over speeding. Police appeal to road users to be extra careful and observe road safety rules and regulations. May his soul rest in Peace. Amen.
